Senior Collection
Inspired by the book about my great aunt Elvira, “Los Secretos de Elvira” by Hugo Coya, she was overall a woman that redefined gender norms, a double spy in world war two, a divorce, and a lesbian. Sharing a similar upbringing as her, coming from a conservative Peruvian family made me feel close to and fascinated by her. I wondered what a modern-day Elvira would look and dress like, so I looked at Elvira’s past to inform the present.
